About this map

This blank map of India shows the boundaries of all states and union territories but no names. Teachers and students use it for map-work practice, worksheets, geography and social science exams, and competitive exam preparation (UPSC, SSC, state PSCs).

Print the black & white PDF on A4 paper and fill in state names, capitals, rivers, mountain ranges or anything else your syllabus asks for. The external boundary follows the Survey of India map, so the outline matches what is used in Indian textbooks and exams.

To check your answers, open the political map of India or the states and capitals map side by side.

How to use this map

  • PNG: paste into Word, Google Docs, PowerPoint or Canva. Use the Print size for posters.
  • PDF: print on A4 (or scale up to A3). It's a vector file, so it stays sharp.

Boundaries on this map follow India's official boundary as published by the Survey of India. Read why this matters.
