About this map
India lies in South Asia, entirely in the Northern and Eastern Hemispheres. The Tropic of Cancer passes through the middle of the country, and the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal surround the peninsula on three sides.
India is the seventh-largest country by area and the most populous country in the world. On this world map it is drawn with its official boundary. Most global maps, including many online map services, show a different line in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh.
